This new house was built on rich farmland in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains.
The design concept was to create a modern interpretation of the classic Irish farmhouse, which at a glance looks very much at home in this rich agricultural landscape. Up close, the restraint of the traditional proportions gives way to intricate contemporary detailing of the open plan living space annex, which features large expanses of shaded glazing and treated larch timber cladding.
