Rathangan Senior Citizens Housing Association was formed as part of a community effort to revitalise the village of Rathangan, Wexford and provide much needed housing for the elderly members of the community.

The Housing Association goal was to create safe, well designed accessible and sustainable dwellings for elderly care in an environment that would contribute to the social well-being and quality of life of the residents of Rathangan and the wider village, community and parish.

Funding for the project was provided under the ‘Capital Funding Schemes for the Provision of Rental Accommodation by Approved Housing Bodies’. O’Driscoll Lynn Architects were appointed as Project Architects to re-design an over budget proposal and to administer the contract.

The completed development comprises 7 no. single storey houses arranged around a courtyard and forming a terrace frontage to the adjacent sports grounds. The development has enhanced the village as a focus for parish life and established linkages and paths around other village facilities.
